SPLATTER COLOR LIKE THIS GO WELL ALONG WITH MODERN DESIGNS.
THE principe is simple - high density of details with small variations to not stand out too much.
The text is well set apart and transparent black layers makes it easy to read.A full background design is very easy to maintain and put in place. It's all down to one big background image fix with overlapping columns.I can warmly recommend a layout like this, they are safe and pretty.
Just keep the logotype highlighted and don't go too crazy.. cause, really, no one likes a mess.

THIS IS AN OLD TECHNIC TO USE SHADINGS, STILL APPLIED in stamps mostly. Here showing a farmer and a fisherman. The motive is not as important as the technique in this case since the old antique feeling is maintained in the technique, not particularly in the motive.Photos have the tendency to be too realistic, too strong sometimes. Then this is a perfect option, simple shadings yet very interesting since the eye is helping to determine the shape of the figures.It's rare to see this type of design nowadays, hence a designers gold mine.
At the right content this can be something really extraordinary.It doesn't need to be a old fashion site to apply images like this. All you need is fitting motive and plenty of guts. This is everything but a safe bet, yet very thrilling.. so go for it!It's line art shading at its best!

CONSIDERING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY CAR BRANDS PUT IN DESIGN and presentation they are holding all what state of art is all about. The funny part is that they are going more and more to a plain 5-10 lines design. Meaning key lines that catches the eyes and few details around. Not far from what modern website layout is all about.
